  • Navajo Nation v. Russell Means

    The Supreme Court of the Navajo Nation heard the case of the Navajo Nation v. Russell Means. The case centers around the limits of the tribal court’s jurisdiction. Mr. Means was a Sioux Indian who was charged with three criminal counts by the Navajo Nation, and argued that the Navajo Nation had no jurisdiction over him. Following the proceedings, there was a question and answer period.
